Wow, it feels like forever since I have posted... my laptop cord broke so I had to wait to get a new one. Honestly, a week without my computer hasn't been awful, but I do feel very out of touch. My house is SUPER clean, though. ;)
I've had another busy week. Saturday one of Braylon's friends had a birthday party. His family members are firefighters so they were able to bring a firetruck to the party. Braylon hasn't stopped talking about firetrucks since.
Sunday morning, Amy, Michelle and I (Lindsay was home with a sick baby) met at the bike path and completed our 9 mile run. I was a little stiff afterwards for a few hours, but never had any soreness. I'm now 12 days out from my half marathon and VERY excited. The 4 of us girls are trying to think of a cute slogan to put on the back of our matching shirts, but haven't came up with anything yet. We want to incorporate something with pigs (oink, squeal, swine, grunt, wee wee wee, this little pig) since the race we're doing is called The Flying Pig. I would love if anyone had any suggestions :)
I have been very good about my eating... until today. Ugh... I really hate to even admit this. Any of you ever heard of Slutty Brownies? We had a birthday party from work and one of my co-workers brought them in. They are amazing! Layered chocolate chip chookie dough, oreos, fudge and brownies...
I'm 5 lbs away from my 100 lb goal and was hoping to make it by my half marathon, but the weight is coming off very slow right now. I'm not giving up and never having a slutty brownie again! I'm running 5 scheduled miles tonight and I'm going to run them HARD to work off as much of that brownie as possible!

Carly, you are sooo inspiring! I just started a learn to run program and I can't imagine running a half marathon. I still have a lot of weight to lose, but you give me hope that I can do this AND possibly run a half marathon at some point :)
ReplyDeleteThey look so yummy!!!!!
ReplyDeleteI am actually doing the Flying Pig 5K on May 5th. I am so stinking nervous and excited! Excited because it's my first event! Nervous cause I'm worried about my time. I know I should just be happy with whatever it is. Specially since 4 months ago I couldn't run 1 minute, much less 3.1 miles. But I don't want to be the last one to finish.
I look forward to reading about your half! I am sure your going to do great!
Those look SINFUL! (and Delicious)
ReplyDeleteHow fun your little guy got to sit in a firetruck! Fun memories for him!
Can't wait to hear about your Half, truly impressive!
Sorry the weight has slowed down! Maybe you'll be pleasantly surprised by reaching your goal for the half (or shortly after). Keep on Keeping ON!
Oh my! I don't think I could not eat one of those brownies. Sounds delish!!! Because of your entries, I've decided to become a runner. I never thought that I could do it, but if you can do it, I can do it! My friend (who just finished her first marathon) is going to be my "trainer". We're going to mix together a few of Hal Higdon's programs to create a good starting place for me. I'm excited to hear about your half marathon once it's done. Good luck!!! :)
ReplyDeletePig related saying.. watch my curly little tail pass by (and then add a pig tail to your shirt). Or each person become one little, two little, three little and then put the race name under that. It would look like this:
ReplyDeleteOne Litte
Flying Pig
Good luck! You inspire me to keep going!
One Little

Ugh. Sorry Had to correct it!
