The Color Run Completed!

Yep, still alive over here. I cannot believe it's been over a month since I last posted. I haven't had a lot to say, regarding my weight loss, and have been staying very busy with Braylon and someone else. ;) I signed up for the Columbus Half Marathon that will take place on Oct 21, 2012 and will begin training next Monday. I'm already pretty much doing the week 1 training over and over again (3 miles, every other day) to work on my pace. I plan to update my training tab on the blog with the updated schedule and will surely have a lot more to blog about then.

Saturday i did the color run in Columbus. I drove up Friday night with Amy, Michelle and our friend Maria. We stood in a very long line at the expo and then went to Cheesecake Factory for dinner before heading back to our hotel. When we woke up Saturday, we planned to get to the race an hour early--and it's a good thing we did! The amount of people was insane for a 5k (I later heard there were over 12,000 people there)!

This was the view behind us waiting to start - and there was still a huge line of people in front of us, too!

Showing off our face tattoos and white shirts before the race started!
I had the privelge of meeting a reader, Whitney, while there. She happened to recognize me in the crowd and came up to say hi. She is amazing and I'm so glad I got to meet her!

Waiting in line - I get hyped before a race!

It was a lot of fun, but definitely something I'm OK with only doing once. The amount of people created bottlenecks at the color stations and it was difficult to run or even walk, as we were standing still for minutes at a time. It was a hard race for me to get motivated to run or try to get a personal best at so I just accepted it as a fun run and didn't worry about timing myself. With that said, I still had a blast and it was fun to get these cool after pics...

I'm pretty sure Amy got the worst of it :)

It took a few showers to completely get clean. It was really fun, though, and I'm glad I did it!
This was after being "cleaned" off by giant blowers.

  1. This is the second blog that reviewed the Colour Run today. Both sounded extremely packed, but looked like so much fun!
Sounds like you're keeping busy and enjoying life :)
